I really loved the mood in this environment so I wanted to bring it to life in UE4! My main goal was to recreate the concept, capturing the mood and the atmosphere. I used Megascans assets for the rocks, foliage, debris, so I could focus on the lighting and composition. 
The smoke particle effect was made by my good friend Austin Widmyer! (

I wanted to capture a camera shot that looked just like the concept piece, so I utilized the composition grid overlay in UE4.
I learned a lot making this piece, especially optimizing textures via color channels and extracting them in the material editor. I used a height layer blend to blend my snow and dirt layers based off Jacob Norris' awesome tutorial!
